Course Overview
Cambridge DELTA Module One is a theory-based qualification that develops candidates’ understanding of language, language learning, and English language teaching methodology. It covers grammar, lexis, phonology, discourse, second language acquisition, and professional practice. Assessment is by a written Cambridge examination, focusing on language analysis and applying theory to classroom contexts. Weekly Zoom discussion sessions are offered (one weekday evening and Saturdays), but attendance is optional as all course content is available on Moodle. Participants join from around the world and work flexibly across time zones. Candidates may choose to sit the exam after the course; the next exam is on the morning of 1 June. The Cambridge exam fee is £197 for candidates sitting in Istanbul. Exam dates are the first Wednesday in June and December each year.
