What you study
Covers theoretical concepts, language system analysis, methodological traditions, resource selection, and language testing assessed via two 90-minute written exams.
Topic 1
Analysis of spoken and written English, including phonetic transcription, stress, intonation, discourse structure, and grammatical/lexical features.
Topic 2
Historical evolution of ELT approaches, underlying Second Language Acquisition principles, and their contemporary applications in diverse classroom contexts.
Topic 3
Evaluating, selecting, adapting, and designing coursebook materials and supplementary resources to align with specific learner outcomes.
Topic 4
Key principles in assessment design, including test construction, validity, reliability, washback, and analyzing diagnostic test tasks.

5 tasks focusing on linguistic terminology, error analysis, and phonetic transcription.

All the tutors were great, well prepared, and always ready to help whenever needed. I really enjoyed the extra work involved in the group project, as I believe it gave me more practice and helped me feel better prepared to face Module 1. The feedback and guidelines were always submitted on time and were clear and helpful. Overall, I would definitely recommend ITI for DELTA preparation courses.
