Course Overview
Cambridge DELTA Module One is a theory-based qualification that develops candidates’ understanding of language, language learning, and English language teaching methodology. It covers key areas including grammar, lexis, phonology, discourse, second language acquisition, and professional practice. Assessed by Cambridge through a written examination, the module focuses on analysing language, evaluating teaching approaches, and applying theory to classroom contexts in line with international standards.
The course runs for 11 weeks, including a reading week between weeks 7 and 8. Weekly Zoom discussion sessions are offered (usually one weekday evening and Saturdays) but are optional, as all content is available via Moodle. Candidates may choose to sit the Module One exam immediately after the course, scheduled for the morning of 4 June. The Cambridge exam fee is £197 for candidates sitting in Istanbul. Exam dates are the first Wednesday in June and December each year.
