What you study
Foundational practical qualification for teaching adult learners. Assessed through 6 hours of observed teaching practice and 4 written assignments.
Topic 1
Understanding cultural backgrounds, learning motivations, teacher roles, and contextual factors in adult English language education.
Topic 2
Analyzing grammar, vocabulary, and phonology alongside instructional frameworks for receptive (reading/listening) and productive (speaking/writing) skills.
Topic 3
Structuring lessons, selecting authentic materials, adapting coursebook activities, and using digital teaching tools.
Topic 4
Managing classroom interaction, staging activities, providing feedback, self-evaluating performance, and setting professional goals.
How you are assessed
6 hours of assessed teaching across at least two learner proficiency levels.
Focus on the Learner; Language Related Tasks; Language Skills Related Tasks; Lessons from the Classroom.
Pass
Meets fundamental standards in planning, teaching delivery, and assignments.
Pass B
Consistently accurate language analysis, clear planning, and effective teaching control.
Pass A
Exceptional independence, precise planning, superior language awareness, and highly effective execution.
